Cement Rate Today in Lahore 2026 – All Brands, Per Bag Price & What’s Actually Driving Costs
My cousin gave me a call last week, while he was working in his grey structure mode, totally worked up.
“Bhai, I was at the dealer yesterday, and the rate was different from what he said three days back. What’s happening?”
To be honest? I know what you’re experiencing. Whether it’s your first build (home, commercial shop, boundary wall, etc.), cement prices change with the climate.
One day you’re estimating comfortably, next your contractor rings up and does not seem to deserve it. Now, if you’re living in Lahore and you want to know today’s cement rate. Then, this article is for you.
I will tell you today’s cement prices with brands. State the reasons why the Lahore rates are the way they are, and give you some tips.

| Cherat Cement | Rs. 1,360 – 1,420 | In Stock |
| Askari Cement | Rs. 1,370 – 1,430 | In Stock |
Note: These are retail market rates as of June, 2026. These may fluctuate up to Rs. 20-50. It depends on your location in Lahore, the dealer’s margin, and delivery charges. Confirm these with your local dealer before purchasing quantities.
An OPC bag of 50 kg sells for Rs. 1,380-1,550 in the North (Lahore and Islamabad). It is due to the freight and steady construction demand. It is slightly cheaper in Karachi, because the plants are not far away.
Why Does Lahore Pay More Than Karachi?
This is one of those bits that causes a lot of confusion. Your relative based in Karachi might tell you they’re getting cement at Rs. 1,350 a bag. On the other hand, you are in Lahore and paying Rs. 1,420. You start to think that maybe you are the one being taken advantage of.
No, that is not the case.
Most of the cement factories in our country are located in southern Punjab and Sindh. So when cement is transported from these factories to Lahore, the transportation expenses rise. The difference in transport, diesel prices, and availability of trucks increases the price of cement in your area.
Other than that, there’s plenty of ongoing construction in Lahore. For example, DHA extensions, Bahria Town, government road projects, and private housing societies. Such continuous demand keeps prices at their present levels.
The Actual Reasons That Change Cement Prices in Lahore
It is necessary to know what really causes the prices to change when you are making a purchase. Here is what I personally witnessed:
(1) Expenditures on fuel and energy:
The production of cement needs an enormous amount of energy. Coal, electricity, and diesel are all factors in determining production costs.
The manufacturers change ex-factory prices hardly at all when fuel prices take a leap, as happened during the Iran-related oil volatility earlier this year. It is the retail prices that will reflect this change within a week or two.
(2) Demand for construction based on the season
Punjab’s construction season is at its peak in summer (April-September). The increased number of projects that are being carried out results in higher demand, which in turn means dealers do not have to offer discounts.
If you are buying products in November or December, you will almost always find that dealers are more open to bargaining as the level of activity slows down.
(3) Taxes and duties imposed by the government
Direct changes made to FED (Federal Excise Duty) when talking about the federal budget have an immediate impact on the prices of cement.
The 2025-26 budget has not made significant changes. So, we have not seen major price fluctuations this year.
(4) The exchange of the rupee
If the rupee loses value against other currencies, this will result in an increase in production costs. Ultimately, the prices at retail will also go up. That is because some inputs and machinery parts are imported.
(5) Profit of the dealer
Many people fail to recognise this one. Based on the dealer, the same product may be sold for Rs. 40-60 higher even within the same community. Usually, the smaller dealers charge bigger margins. Generally, you get the best price when you buy from a large dealer, a well-established supplier, or directly from the brand’s authorised dealer.
What Brand Should You Actually Buy in Lahore?
Well, this is the question everyone really wants to get an answer to.
In fact, the biggest truth is that if it is regular residential construction you are working on (like footings, columns, beams, slabs), then all major brands are almost equal if the cement is used correctly.
Most of the time, the making of cement and its application determine the quality of the work rather than the brand.
But, here is a short list of brand names which both contractors and civil engineers mention:
Lucky Cement: It is generally considered reliable for RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete) work. Great resale value. Very popular for structural elements. Price-wise, it is quite competitive considering its quality.
DG Khan Cement: Besides being very good for structural work, DG Khan has the largest cement plant in Pakistan. It means their supply is very consistent. It is a favourite among contractors working on large-scale projects.
Maple Leaf Cement: It is used in residential and commercial projects. It has high quality, and its price is somewhat higher. It has its head office in Lahore and is also quite well distributed here.
Bestway Cement: On top of being of good quality, this is usually the most competitive in price among the quite good ones. It is helpful for both structural and finishing works.
Fauji & Kohat: Both are good quality performers. Sometimes their prices are slightly lower than those of Lucky or Maple Leaf. If you are on a tight budget and still want good quality, then these brands are a good value.
My Personal Take
For grey structure work, Lucky or DG Khan. For finishing or plaster, any of the mid-tier brands work just fine. Do not let anyone convince you that you have to get the “premium” cement for plaster because that is usually where a lot of unnecessary expenses find their way.
Lahore is only a small part of the picture. In case you are doing a project in multiple cities or only want to compare the rating of Lahore with Karachi, Islamabad, or Peshawar, the cement price in Pakistan page will be a great help to you, as it is a complete national breakdown and is regularly updated with all major brands and regions.
OPC vs SRC | Which Type of Cement Do You Need?
This is where a lot of people building their houses get mixed up, so I will make it very easy for you.
OPC (Ordinary Portland Cement)
This is the one that you use for 95% of home construction. Footings, columns, beams, slabs, and brick masonry. It is the typical grey cement that you will find with every dealer.
SRC (Sulfate Resistant Cement)
It is a special type of cement that is used when the soil or the groundwater is very high in sulfates. If your property is in a low-lying area where there is a problem of waterlogging, then your structural engineer might suggest using SRC for the foundations. Though it is a bit costly, you only use it in those cases that are really needful.
White Cement
Just for beauty. Tile grouting, decorative finishes. Do not use it for any structural work.
OPC is required for most of the homes in the residential areas of Lahore. You just need to ensure it is 53 grade (the higher strength grade) for structural parts.
